NSV President Eunjung Yoon reaches 1,000 hours of bathing service (kharn.kr)

Eunjoong Yoon, CEO of NSV, who has been actively practicing the return of corporate profits to society, has been volunteering for bathing every Saturday for the past 17 years, accumulating 1,000 hours of service.

Mr. Yoon volunteers weekly at the Salvation Army Namdong Pyeonggang Village, a nursing home for the elderly in Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea, where the headquarters is located. He has been volunteering every Saturday since March 17, 2007, along with the then director of the institute, Dr. Lee Jong-seok, and his staff.

As Namdong Pyeonggang Village is a care facility for the elderly, most of the patients suffer from dementia and severe gout with limited mobility, so it was important to clean their bodies for hygiene. However, washing the patients was a difficult task, even for young men.

As the work was quite difficult for the caregivers, most of whom were middle-aged women, Ms. Yoon decided that it would be more meaningful and rewarding for her to volunteer to provide bathing services that were difficult for others to do.

Since the first bath volunteer program, Mr. Yoon has taken the initiative to engage employees in voluntary participation, traveling from his home in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to Namdong Pyeonggang Village in Incheon every Saturday.

"At first, employees who felt a bit burdened and challenged by the CEO's example, sympathized with him and participated more and more actively in volunteer activities with their parents in mind," Yoon recalled.
